Solar Air Heating Info

How does Solar Air Heating work?

The built-in fan draws cool indoor air through the Solar Heater Panel to be heated by the sun, then pushes the warmed air back indoors. It's that simple! Most of our units produce well over 200 degrees as shown in our install videos, even on zero degree days.

How cost effective is a solar air heater?

A solar air heating system is one of the most cost effective forms of using renewable energy. Typically, a system will pay for itself in 1 to 3 years (less if the prices of heating fuel continue to go up!). All our units qualify for a 30% tax credit as well! Start reducing your heating bills today!

Will the solar air heater produce heat on cloudy days?

Some heat production is possible on cloudy days, but the output will not be as significant as on clear sunny days (similar to your car not getting as hot on an overcast day). Luckily Colorado and many other states have over 300 days of sun shine.

Does the solar air heater work at night?

No, the units only provide heat from sunlight and are meant to be a supplemental heating source to reduce dependence on your regular heating system and fossil fuels. Each unit has a built in snap disc sensor that will only allow the blower motor to start circulating air when surface temp reaches 120 degrees and shuts down if it drops to 90. We do make units that have dual hot air and hot water though, if coupled with a storage tank, heat exchanger and special blower, you could have warm air all night and on cloudy days as
well, ask us how.

How much do they cost and what sizes?

Basic 3x4 units start at $699 and 3x8 units are $999 depending on if you will be wall mounting or roof mounting. We can custom build any size to meet your heating needs or specific mounting layout. We stand apart from all the others as we will build to suit your needs and are hundreds if not thousands of dollars less than the others! All units include a solar PV panel to power the blower motor. 3x4 will heat a 400 sf area nicely and the larger 3x8 will heat 800 sf.
